The court will not award Liz the money she has lost if she cannot prove the amount of the loss with reasonable certainty. However, Liz did lose money. The problem is that a monetary damage award from the court would not include that unproven amount. So the monetary award would not put Liz in as good a position as she would have been in had the contract been performed as promised.
