The Drennan court found that injustice could indeed be avoided only by holding that Star Paving's offer was irrevocable.
This certainly makes good sense. The subcontractor wants the job, so he or she submits the offer to induce the general contractor to use it.
When the general contractor does so, it is hardly fair, when the general contractor secures the contract, to allow the subcontractor to revoke the offer.
