Interpreting Ambiguity and the Objective Intent Test

An example of ambiguity: You receive the following text message from your friend: "Visiting relatives can be boring!" You do not know whether she means, "It can be boring to visit relatives"; or "Relatives who visit can be boring."

Question - As a reasonable person interpreting your friend's words, you would say your friend means...?

Either "It can be boring to visit relatives"; or "Relatives who visit can be boring."

"It can be boring to visit relatives."

"Relatives who visit can be boring."
